This work is a selection from a major exhibition shown as part of Liverpool Independents Biennial in 2008. The spaces photographed are held in tension between past and future use. These are not images of dereliction but a document of a calm hiatus before the clamour of redevelopment begins.
Evidence of former occupations remain, but also traces of present occupation, an appropriation of the space by birds and plants.
